Croydon Foodbank left the Trussell Trust network on 7th October.

As Croydon Foodbank are an individual charity in their own right, this doesn’t mean the food bank has to close, but as we’re no longer involved with the charity we don’t know what their plans for the future are. As always, our focus remains on the well-being of people who need support, and we are working with nearby food banks in the area to ensure there is continued support for local people who don’t have enough money for the essentials.

Norwood and Brixton Foodbank will continue supporting many areas of the borough with emergency food. For support or referrals please email contact Norwood & Brixton Foodbank: https://www.trusselltrust.org/get-help/find-a-foodbank/norwoodbrixton/

The Trussell Trust runs a network of more than 1,300 food bank centres across the UK – in the last year our network provided more than 2.1 million three-day emergency food parcels to people facing hardship. Food banks within the network are independent charities within their own right and have their own boards of trustees and governance structures. We work alongside food banks in our network to undertake quality assurance visits, ensure projects are run to a high standard and provide training and guidance with issues projects face. This includes one-to-one support on the ground through an Area Manager; access to a unique data collection system for tracking donations; stock and food distribution; websites and marketing materials; a share in nationally negotiated fundraising partnerships with corporates; and a network of peers to share best practice and resources with.
